Abstract

|
Alcoholism and domestic violence show high relevance between them. In fact many wives of alcoholics suffer from both of their husbands´ alcoholism and bettering. Shelters are run for abused wives in Korea. However, there are few individualized services for abused wives of alcoholics.
This paper is to review the suffer of abused wives of alcoholics through the ecosystem framework, studies on shelter programs in Korea and to propose the individualized program for abused wives of alcoholics.
The program includes the alcohol program for abused alcoholic wives of alcoholics, the alcohol education program for abused non-alcoholic wives of alcoholics, self-help groups, job training, legal advice service and follow up.
